Intern Project - Summer 2023
Timeline
The timeline for my project was 6 weeks, with 2 additional weeks for final touches. I went through each stage of the design process including preliminary research, user interviews, ideation, sketching, prototyping, and user testing. Since I was designing for a small team, I was also able to facilitate a design sprint, which helped me prioritize features for the space.
Interviews + Persona Creation
I conducted a few user interviews with members of the team, and generated two personas from my findings. The first persona is the role of the Director, and the second persona is the role of the Designer. Both personas were key stakeholders in the product, so it was important to highlight the differences in the wants and needs of each.
Design Sprint
The largest chunk of research for my project came from a week-long, "mini" design sprint that I faciliated. Using the findings from user interviews I conducted prior to the sprint, the team created "How Might We" questions. The team also created an affinity map for priority features, as well as did some lightning demos with existing project management tools.
Wireframing + Prototyping
After facilitating the design sprint and synthesizing the results, I created a few low fidelity wireframes to map out what the product would look like. I did this using Adobe Xd. I then turned my wireframes into a prototype, and conducted some user testing sessions, where I got some great feedback. I then made updates to the wireframes and tested again.
